Education is about nurturing people. Raising people is without a doubt the most fundamental and important task in human society of all times and places. Seoul National University College of Education is a place of nurturing people who nurture people.
Seoul National University College of Education, which has its origins in Hansung Normal School that opened in 1895, has produced about 30,000 graduates over the past 75 years since its establishment in 1946 with the opening of Seoul National University. Our graduates have not only been leading Korean education through outstanding educational activities and research in secondary schools and universities at home and abroad, but are also demonstrating leadership in the fields of politics, economy, culture, and the media.
However, a new educational paradigm is desperately needed in the face of a major transformation in the educational environment, with the recent digital transformation, low fertility, and aging population. The knowledge-transfer education model of the past does not have room to develop high-level thinking abilities such as problem-solving skills, creativity, and multi-dimensional thinking abilities like convergent thinking; social skills such as communication and collaboration skills; and physical competence that is the basis of an independent and active life necessary for future generations.
Seoul National University College of Education pursues to establish a new concept of education necessary for the future of society and to innovate talent development and knowledge creation in the field of education. We ask for your constant interest and support.
